The Chronicles of Narnia: The Magician's Nephew>
I just finished reading the book"The Magician's Nephew by C. S. Lewis. It's marvellous! Slightly humourous too! A good read. My science teacher read it too and she said that it was extremely interesting. I would describe it as an introduction to the next 6 books. I can't wait to start the next book, "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" It surely will be nice. The story is about a boy named Digory who climbed over a wall into a girl called Polly's garden. Soon after, they became friends and when Polly found a tunnel that would take them through a row of houses to a "haunted" house. She called Digory and they set off on a "to-be" adventure. They crawled through the tunnel to reach the house. Finally, they reach a door. They enter it, only to find that it is Digory's uncle's experiment room and he whisks them off to a faraway undiscovered land(Charn) where they meet the Witch Queen, Jadis, who was as evil as she was beautiful. (For your information, Digory thought that she was the most beautiful woman he had ever met in his whole life.) She was led to London where she wreaked havok and caused an accident until Digory and Polly used a magic ring to take her away. To their horror, they had also taken a horse which the witch was riding on and its owner, along with Digory's uncle, Uncle Andrew, to a strange land called Narnia. They met a lion known as Aslan, the ruler of Narnia whose powers were stronger than the Witch Queen's so she fled and occupied the North of The World while The rest of the creatures went off with Aslan. They grew a tree with magic apples as a barricade and sent Digory and Polly and Uncle Andrew back to London. Digory took a magic apple back home with which he used to cure his sick mother. With the core, He planted a beautiful apple tree. Sadly, it uprooted during a storm. Digory used the slightly magical wood to make a cupboard. (He didn't know that the wood was magical.) The cupboard was actually a door to Narnia. Where some children would enter and thus begining the next story...
