The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe>
Digory is now an old professor and it is during a war. 4 children come to his house to live. 2 are boys, Peter and Edmund, and 2 are girls, Susan and Lucy. They were exploring the house when Lucy discovered the "door" she went into the cupboard and after passing through a layer of coats, she stumbled into Narnia which was under seige by the Snow Queen, Jadis. She had put Narnia into a spell that made it be winter the whole year round. Lucy was discovered by a strange stag. This stag worked under Queen Jadis and was supposed to capture any human that "trespassed". He introduced himself as Mr. Tumnus and gave her a tea at his house.He planned later to take her to Queen Jadis. Soon, he suddenly felt sorry for what he had done though, and secretly let her go. This was discovered by Queen Jadis and she turned him into a stone statue. Lucy told the others and they all didn't believe it. Edmund had actually also gone to Narnia and had seen Queen Jadis who told him that she would make him king if he brought his siblings to her. The siblings all thought that Lucy was mad until all 4 of them went to Narnia where they met a robin who led them to a beaver's house. The beaver and his wife sat the foursome down and told them more about Narnia and Aslan(the king, a lion). Edmund however, slipped away and betrayed his siblings and their whereabouts to the queen so that he could have kingship as a reward. He was not granted this though. Instead, he had to lead the queen and her chariot to them. Aslan had however had come to Narnia for a visit and so, he turned the Winter to Spring. The queen then could not use her chariot as it was to be used as a sled so she ordered Edmund to have his hands tied behind his back and they walked on to catch up with the other 3 siblings. They had already reached Aslan actually. The queen heard and sent her wolf spies. Father Christmas had given a healing potion to Lucy and a sword and a shield to Peter. He also gave a bow and arrow set to Susan. When the wolf was discovered, Peter drew his sword and killed the wolf. There was one hiding wolf left and it reported this to the queen. Edmund had also escaped with the help of centaurs and went to live with his siblings, Aslan and the other animals. The queen wanted him back and so she had a bargain with Aslan and the deal was: she gave Edmund to them and Aslan gave her his life. That night he made his way to the queen's camp where they bound him to a table, muzzled him, then shaved him and jeered at him. After the din, they paraded off triumphantly. then, suddenly, the table broke and Aslan came back to life. He immediately set off for the Queen's castle where the brought all the other stone animals back to life by breathing on them. then, they waged a war against Jadis and won and the troop went to Cair Paravel and anointed the 4 siblings kings and queens of Narnia. The end. Actually, I think this story is a bit like the bible. I'll go and read the next book first. Then I'll post about it.
